Hisayo Horie

ChloeHisayo Horie (they/them) is a Registered Acupuncturist and Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner (R.Ac, R.TCMP). Hisayo has advanced training in acupuncture techniques, including scalp acupuncture for neurological disease, full body tuina massage, Master Tung acupuncture, cosmetic acupuncture, and participates in an ongoing Yokoyama-style NESSIN study group. Committed to deepening their practice, Hisayo is also currently an apprentice at Nguistyle Integrative Medicine Clinic in Richmond Hill, further refining their techniques and bringing the profound wisdom of Classical Chinese Medicine to their work.

Hisayo’s interest in TCM cancer support is ignited from their storytelling work with Métis cancer survivors. Their practice is deeply informed by the resilience and integrity of those who have been pushed to society’s margins.

As a queer, trans, nonbinary practitioner of Japanese descent, Hisayo works from an anti-oppression framework with trauma-informed, queer- and trans-positive approach.

Hisayo earned their Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner diploma from the Ontario College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. They are registered with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (CTCMPAO).

In addition to their clinical training, Hisayo also has a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters in Environmental Studies. With over a decade of experience as a community artist, Hisayo has facilitated storytelling in diverse communities, particularly with LGBTQ+, immigrant and refugee, and Indigenous communities.
