Important Clinic Update

Dear valued Hillgreen patients,
I am pleased to announce an exciting evolution in our clinic’s growth! My sister Dr. Julie Hwang Naturopathic Doctor, who owns and operates Aurum Medicine and Wellness Clinic, will soon be taking over official ownership of Hillgreen’s Midtown and Vaughan locations.
Dr. Julie will work with all of you in the Hillgreen community to continue our high quality TCM work in those locations. I am thrilled that Dr. Julie and Aurum will be taking the reins, for a few reasons. Dr. Julie is not only an excellent clinician who respects what Traditional Chinese Medicine has to offer in its depth, but a passionate and skilled clinic leader. Under her impressive leadership, Aurum has grown into an established integrative clinic with a wide offering of services, including nutrition, naturopathic medicine, psychotherapy, massage therapy, osteopathy, Ayurveda, coaching etc., creating a unique environment for our patients to access cross-referrals and experience healing through a variety of modalities.
Dr. Julie has amassed a team of compassionate and knowledgeable clinicians from these various fields, some of whom are my friends and simply wonderful humans. She shares my values of having an inclusive, trauma-informed, accessible and LGBTQ2S-friendly practice. She also recognizes the unique and advanced skills that the current Hillgreen practitioners bring in terms of Traditional Chinese Medicine for cancer and other complex conditions, and the importance of maintaining this high standard of clinical excellence.
From the patient perspective, expect to continue to come to the same location and encounter the same practitioners, with the same wonderful front desk staff. The main change of note is that we will soon (~March 1 2026) be switching patient records into Aurum’s Jane software and booking through there instead. Rest assured that, for now, you can continue to book online at Hillgreen until then, and that all appointments will be transferred over to the Aurum Janeapp platform when it is ready. We will send out instructions for creating a new patient login on the Aurum Janeapp site, when it is ready.
Through the sale of the practice, Aurum will become the new patient custodian for your medical record with us, which will continue to be kept fully confidential and privacy-protected under Ontario’s Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) regulations.
As I know some of you will ask, I will be refocusing my energies on my clinical practice, both virtually and at the Warkworth location (which is based at my farm Hillgreen Farm in Northumberland County, east of the GTA). I’m also looking forward to having more time for farming, pottery, writing, mindfulness, and pursuing additional skills in somatics and coaching. For those who have seen me directly (whether virtually or in person), I will also retain a copy of your patient chart, and can continue to see you for follow-ups without any issue.
